Bijou is a heart-shaped velvet ring box of our own, painted flat and bright: open on a gold solitaire, a cream satin lining in its heart-shaped lid and a pink satin bow on its side. Your first names are set on the satin in two short lines, as if stitched in the velvet’s own colour, with “we said yes” over the box and the day under it. The reply card asks your guests whether they will say yes, with a box to tick, the place cards are little closed heart boxes, the table numbers sit in the lid and sparkles run down the menu; add a photograph and it fills the lid. Pink as painted, or the same box in red velvet, emerald or navy, the satin, the gold and the bow the same on every one.
