Crewel is a joyful border of wool embroidery worked on natural linen and photographed for us: red and pink tulips, roses, white daisies, blue forget-me-nots, bluebirds perched on the vines, little hearts and a pink bow at each corner of the foot. Your names sit on the plain linen in the middle with a little embroidered heart between them. The reply card has the garland across its head and a needle trailing its thread into a heart, every guest’s place card has a single stitched tulip beside their name, the table numbers sit in a wooden embroidery hoop, and every sign wears the garland. With a photograph, the picture is set in an embroidery hoop. Stitched in every colour, or in reds, delft blues or soft pastels, the linen the same in all four.
