Lexicon sets your names as an entry in a fine old dictionary. Your two first names head the page as its guide words, the entry is both names in bold lower case, and its first meaning is the wedding: the day, the hour and the place, line by line. The second is informal, a very good party; see also forever. The reply is a note in square brackets, and a thumb index printed in red holds your initial. The reply card is the entry for reply, the menu a page of entries, and every place card sets a guest’s name as a headword. With a photograph, it sits beside the entry as a small plate, captioned Fig. 1. Paper, blue, sage, rose or ink.
