Mixtape lays a cassette’s paper insert flat across the card: your first names written in marker on its ruled label, “the wedding tape” and the date beneath, your full names written up the spine the way a shelf of tapes is labelled, and the day typed on the back flap as a tracklist, side A the ceremony, side B the party. The save the date is the tape’s own label, the month and the day in its two reels; the reply card is side B; the thank-you is the whole cassette. Chrome with a red margin, pastel pink with powder blue, a sunset of orange stripes, mint, or black.
