Muslin is a dressmaker’s pattern of our own, printed on soft creased tissue: pattern pieces drawn in black with their dashed seam lines, notches, grain arrows and dots in red, your names printed large on the front piece in Bodoni with an italic ampersand, your date as the pattern number and the size: forever. The invitation’s words are typed on the instruction block, view A the ceremony and view B dinner and dancing. The reply card is a slip to cut out on the dotted line, the menu the instructions, the place card a little pocket piece. With a photograph, the photograph is pinned to the tissue. Tan tissue with red marks, blush, sage, chalk white with blue, or indigo with cream lines.
