Otomi takes its joy from the embroidery the Otomi (Hñähñu) artisans of Tenango de Doria in Hidalgo, Mexico, are loved for: birds, deer, rabbits and flowers in satin stitch, running all the way round the edge of a white cotton cloth. Your names go in the middle. In every colour of thread at once, or in a single colour, the way many of the cloths are made: indigo, magenta or teal.
