Relief is a photograph of a carved plaster panel, garden roses, a peony and an olive branch in shallow relief, lit by a low sun from the side so every petal throws its shadow. Your names are cut into the smooth plaster above the flowers in wide-spaced Roman capitals, in a deep shade taken from the relief’s own shadows. In chalk, stone, terracotta and sage plaster, or graphite lit low. With your photograph, it is set into the plaster as a medallion.
