Swatch is a paint chip named after you. A flat field of your colour, and under it the label a paint maker would print: your names set large as the colour’s name, the date as its code, a hairline, and the small print. The invitation is a paint strip of five tints, deepest at the head where your names are, one part of the day in each band; the menu is a long strip, one course per tint; every place card is a chip named after the guest, with their table as the code. With a photograph, the colour field holds it, printed in your shade. Terracotta, sage, powder blue, cherry or cocoa, with softly rounded corners like a real chip.
