Travertine is honed, porous, warm stone used the way architects use it. Your card is a photograph of a single travertine plinth standing against a travertine wall, your names engraved into its face in spaced capitals and filled the colour of the stone’s own pores, the date small beneath them and the wall above left quiet. The menu and the small cards are cut from a slab of the same wall, one clean joint across it. With a photograph, your picture stands on the plinth like a framed print. Travertine, ivory, honey, mushroom or noce, the dark walnut stone.
